The beginning of the Quran, known as the first revelation, starts with the words

“Read in the name of your Lord who created.” (Quran 96:1)

These words were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by the angel Gabriel.

“The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others.” (Sahih Bukhari, 5027)
